Losing weight with Body Wraps
Would you like to know what the advantages of using body wraps are? Body wraps are usually bandages or some sort of plastic wrap that is tightly wound around the body and completely lathered in nutrients, spices and herbs in order to produce fast and effective weight loss. Thousands of spas and resorts offer these slimming body wrap treatments and there are also at home kits that you can purchase to use on yourself.
Do Body Wraps Work?
Body wraps are generally designed to result in fast, temporary weight loss. They are also often referred to as body masks or body cocoons. Not only do these special treatments promote quick and easy weight loss but they also provide a great way to rid your body of toxins. Ingredients used within a body wrap usually include a combination of seaweed, mud, clay and algae. This special blend stimulates the metabolism into extracting toxins contained inside of your body. The final result of using one of these treatments is a quick and painless loss of weight and purifying of the body.
How are Body Wrap Treatments Performed?
Before a body wrap is applied there are preliminary measures that are taken. Usually, the first step in the process is an exfoliation of the skin. This is typically done by either using a salt scrub or by dry brushing the body. After this step is completed the body wrap is put around the body. In most cases this is left on for 15 to 20 minutes. After this time has passed the body wrap is removed and you have to shower off. Once you are dry you usually have to apply a special lotion to make sure the effects of the treatment stick.
There are a couple different services that most spas offer that are coupled with a body wrap treatment. Often times you can request for a massage therapist to be the person to apply the body mask. In these cases, you will receive a full body massage that is wonderful as the wrap is placed on you. Other spas offer a simple scalp massage while the wrap is applied which is equally comfortable and luxurious.
Spa Treatment vs. Home Treatment
While you can have a body wrap service done at just about any spa, don’t expect it to be cheap. These services are generally quite pricey ranging between $100 and $200 on average. This isn’t exactly a consumer friendly price for the average Joe. Sure, the body wrap is applied by a professional but it’s a very easy process that doesn’t require a degree to figure out.
You can purchase at-home body wrap kits, though. Most of these can be found online and are usually much cheaper than having the procedure done at a spa. Specific online retailers offer kits that are between the prices of $30 and $50. They work just as well as a body wrap you would get at a spa and come at a fraction of the cost.
